Stephen Colbert

Mr. Colbert has extensive experience in dealing with complex business and commercial litigation, including representing clients in anti-trust claims and disputes involving commercial loans, real estate developments, construction, manufacturing, employment and other general business claims. His experience also includes having served as an administrative law judge as well as a tribal judge for the Chickasaw Indian Nation.
In addition to commercial litigation and advising clients in general business matters, Mr. Colbert has in recent years focused his practice on advising clients on issues relating to elder law, estate planning, business succession, and probate. Mr. Colbert also selectively advises and represents clients on family related matters, including divorce, child custody, and child support matters.
Mr. Colbert is currently licensed to practice law in the States of Texas and Oklahoma. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1971, and his J.D. degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1974. He has been licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma since 1974 and in the State of Texas since 1992. Mr. Colbert is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association, and is admitted to practice before the United States District Courts of the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas and of the Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma, and the United States Fifth, Sixth and Tenth Circuit Courts of Appeals.
